This month find the finest quality seasonal home-grown produce & products from the English countryside straight to your high street!

With the closure of Farmers' Markets, long term trader Rollo Millership started Nourished Communities, in order to support both local businesses and farmers whose livelihoods have been impacted and those who didn't want to miss out on the fresh, seasonal produce from farmers' markets.

Set up amid lockdown and market closures, Nourished Communities brings the finest quality seasonal home-grown produce & products from the English countryside straight to your door.

This month, the online market will now trade out of a refill store in Islington from the design showroom quite aptly named 'Coexistence’. With an ever-growing array of produce, from veg to salad, coffee and cheese, there are down-to-earth basics and delicacies for everyone.

Amongst the 40 different producers listed on the site, they include: Perry Court Farm: three generations of farming family with over 300 varieties of apples & pears who supply seasonal goodies. Currently Cherries, Black currants, Gooseberries are in full swing! Cobble Lane Cured, producing the finest cured meats in N1, who usually would have been supplying toppings to Franco Manca restaurants and Yard Sale Pizza! The Tomato Stall - one of Jamie Oliver’s favorites Smokin’ Brothers fish, who supplied many of the top Michelin star restaurants in London pre-covid Court Yard Dairy’s award winning british cheeses A broad array of British pulses e.g. chickpeas, lentils and quinoa. Commenting on the launch, founder Rollo Millership said: “It's been a very emotional but uplifting experience. People really need fresh fruit and veg and have been scared to leave their house. We really want to help and cultivate a community of people buying from small farms and producers. Shopping is a very different experience now, compared to a few months ago, and right now customers have found us because they want to support and connect with small and local businesses.” So far, Nourished Communities is focusing on delivering in N1, N4, N5 and E8, but are exploring wider deliveries. They also 100% committed to their local area and every Friday champion other local businesses, artists, charities and local ‘gems’ in their newsletter to the area.
