I needed a slow puncture repair in my short lunch hour. As luck would have it one customer was finishing so I could be seen quickly and get back to work in good time. Service was friendly and positive.

Check the age of the tyres you're sold at Chequrered tyres. I was sold 2014 tyres in 2018. They were unused but I was advised by another garage that brand new tyres (i.e. 2018) are best - they have no chance to degrade sitting around in the warehouse.

When I took this up with Chequrered they were unhelpful and called them "brand spanking new tyres". I explained they were unused but old.

Completely frustrating experience. Avoid this place! Chequered experience indeed

Unfortunately I couldn't help Imogen Baker in her response about her tyres I agree that the date on her tyres are 2014 we had ordered these tyres in for her from our wholesaler as it is such an old tyre-size that we no longer keep them in stock due to the age of the vehicle that they were going on.
I contacted the wholesalers and they confirmed with me that they we're well in date and that NEW TYRES have a shelf life of 6 years before being fitted.
I relayed this information to Imogen but she didn't want to listen she had already made up her mind.
Most tyres we sell will be within a year to 18 months old due to availability of the tyre size.
If the tyre size is no longer current on any vehicles is impossible to guarantee this it also can make to price more expensive as less manufactures make them.
Once again i'm sorry we couldn't resolve this to your satisfaction.

I've used these guys 3 times now - and everytime they have been honest, efficent and good value for money.

I have an Audu Q5 and had a nail go through the tyre - rather than try and sell me a new tyre they simply repaired it in 20mins and I was on my way.

Excellent local business and one I hope does well.

I phoned on a Monday as needed 2 years urgently before I went on holiday. The next morning I had a phone call to tell me to come up. Had both tyres replaced quickly, friendly guy and very helpful. Have recommended to loads of my friends. I go back to Chequered Tyres everytime and get prices too.
