I have been a customer of AM Garden Machinery for many years, in fact going back to when the present owner's father was the boss - they've always 'gone the extra mile' for me & I've always found them most professional and polite.

I would advise that you avoid this company at all costs. They simply do not care about customer service or going that extra mile to help you. I phoned them to ask whether they had a left handed bolt for my strimmer which I was assured they would have. After a long journey there I was initially told they did not have a left handed bolt for my machine but after a request to look a little harder one was found by the young man and he then asked the manager for the price. The manager seemed to just guess a number and times it by two. When I said I thought it was too expensive they said, Well you can leave if you want to, or we can charge you extra and put it on a payment card.

I said I would not be dealing with them again as they have a very bad attitude towards the customer and want to fleece them for every penny. I later found the same item online for a fraction of the price and free delivery. There is simply no help or consideration for a customers needs and I would avoid dealing with them at all costs.

AM garden Machinery know their Lawn Mowers. However beware the potential High cost of repairs here. I took my petrol Al-Ko mower which was only 11 months old in for a repair, as it would not start after the winter. I foolishly did not enquire as to the likely cost of such repair when I took it in. Big mistake! After taking them 3 weeks to fix. (they said it would be within 10 days) I was presented with a bill which was two thirds the price of a brand new mower! Apparently it takes the same time to repair expenisive mowers as well as cheap ones, which I guess is understandable, however I think it would have been appropiate to phone me and give me a repair quote or estimate before proceeding with the work! I very much doubt that my mower which had only been used 9 times from new (for a very small lawn) needed new oil, new plug, new carb diaphrm, blade re-sharpened..etc. All in all mower servicing here is probably good value if your mower cost over £500 new. Should you however have a cheaper mower, your probably better off buying a new one! If anyone from AM ever reads this, here is a phrase you should understand and bring into your business "Customer Communications".

The owner and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and always offer very helpful advice on both practical and technical matters even at the expense of losing business themselves. Not the cheapest though but well worth the extra
