Base Camp

I really, really want to support local businesses, so I would like to like this shop more. This week I went in to buy a Scrabble set. 'No we don't have any, try Argos.' Three weeks ago my husband went in to buy Peppa Pig for a friend's daughter, 'No we don't have it. Try Argos.' My idea of a good shop is one which says 'Sorry we are out of stock but we can order one for you.' A friendly, positive can-do attitude, and I will be in the shop every time I need to buy a gift. I ended up buying the Scrabble on Amazon, which is the last thing I wanted to do.

Base camp is now the first place I go when I want to buy anything for babies and children. The range of stock is vast and the toys they are of good quality. They clearly don't believe in stocking tat. If you have a child's party to plan they have a brilliant section of small toys for party bags. They also have a very good section for adults that includes items such as bags, books and mugs. The owner is always helpful and advises me on what to go for with the budget that I have as well as letting me know what's been popular. I've brought friends there who now love it and I think you will!
