All In London Review

Spa London is most definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the city

Spa London can be found located within Tower Hamlets historic York Hall in Bethnal Green and really is the ultimate day spa experience at a very reasonable cost whether you want to spend the day in sheer relaxation using the facilities or spoil yourself with one of the treatments and be a pampered princess.

It is just as well that I was given a tour of the place before being let loose in paradise because the spa is so big you might get lost in luxury… I got changed into swim wear and headed down the corridor through the swinging double doors and was set free in the ‘Hammam’ which is furnished with under heated tiles. I headed right down the wet alley, past the plunge pool and exhilarating tropical rain shower and fun bucket shower into the first of two aroma steam rooms which was scented with menthol eucalyptus while the other smelled like citrus fruit - a perfect start to the day I must say!

Once I was thoroughly steamed and relaxed I headed across the corridor to the original Turkish Baths where you could lie on the heated stone benches and dry off in the hot dry air and I felt my muscles just melt away into the history of the building. After that a regular sauna just didn’t feel as special but there was one all the same depending on how you like your heat, take your pick. If that wasn’t enough there was also a huge relaxation area with a selection of waters, teas and snacks available to enjoy, which made you feel like you were on holiday as you could lie back on a sun lounger and cool down eating a complimentary apple - which the relaxation room was not short of!

To top off my morning I was given the signature treatment ‘Gym and Tonic’ which consists of a back massage, a mask for your back and is designed for the post workout body. Firstly my back was cleansed, body brushed and exfoliated then I was given a deep tension releasing massage which felt truly exhilarating as I have never had any type of deep massage, but I did opt for firm pressure which was just right.

After the massage a warm marine algae mask is put all over your back kind of like a facial for your back - which did feel slightly odd at first but I soon got over the feeling as I was so relaxed and while it is doing it’s stuff your legs and feet are treated to a wonderful, relaxing massage as well! This really is an exceptional treatment and I strongly recommend using the spa facilities to ease away daily London life before your treatment ensuring you feel the full effects of the massage.

Spa London is most definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the city and perfect for group trips if you wanted to do something different or even just to treat yourself - don’t worry if you are on a budget either as it is very reasonable offering packages also.
