I had a bad time here. I returned with a key they had cut that didn’t work. I showed the older gentleman the key and the receipt and he immediately became aggressive saying that the key hadn’t been cut there. I said I had had some cut elsewhere and I might have got them mixed up so I could check. He ignored this, grabbing my hand and started "joke" slapping it calling me a liar. A helpful younger man then intervened and fixed the key, which now works. But the older guy made me feel really uncomfortable and comes across as quite sexist. It seems like he’s not aware of appropriate boundaries.

Just had another two pairs of shoes repaired here. Excellent service and friendly staff. The gentleman that offers the shoe-mending service is a craftsman, an expert cobbler and a lovely fellow. The key cutting service is prompt, friendly and efficiant. Would recommend the business to anyone. Quality work at a fair price.

This is an excellent place, with high quality workmanship reliably delivered and cheerful and expert service. It is a pleasure to do business with them.

It's really clear from the outset these young chaps know there stuff, there keys always work for me.
"Open all hours" by the BBC comes to you as you walk in, but that's a good thing to my mind.

A small company, nicely run.

The customer service here is poor and the repairs overpriced. I went in to get a single rubber sole re-attached to the heel of a shoe and was told that I would need the whole sole replaced for each shoe which would cost about £50 (the shoes only cost £40)! The server was quite arrogant and short with me and I can only assume he was having a bad day. The repair (of the heels only) was overpriced.

Response from Alex Manager
In response to the comments made.
I was in fact present and am aware of the conversation between both parties.
We do apologize for any arrogant or shortness from our staff.
The older gentleman referred too, does have a reputation of being proud of his craft and
means not to come across as rude and is held in high regard by our regulars.
In respect to our price format, we use higher priced quality products with our repairs which will be reflected in our prices, we find more customers prefer this way of repairs than more economically priced materials.
Again
Sorry for any upset caused.
Kind Regards
Alex T.
