It pains me to say this, but Dalston Motorcycles is not the type of a place I would recommend. I have been a fairly long-term user (3 years +) and always found them very nice, despite being somewhat slack. However, more recently, their service is taking the ****. The problem seems to be the ridiculous amount of time parts (common stuff, nothing special) take to arrive and general ‘we don’t know what’s going on’ attitude. I mean, how many times can you lose something in the post? I took my bike there recently – after two weeks of daily calls and ‘lost in the post’ excuses I bit the bullet and transferred it to another workshop (Barking’s Howard Powell). It was ready after 5 days.
Sorry DMC, but I won’t be using you again

I have been using this company for over 15 years and have never had a bad deal. They have always been curtious and polite and friendly and efficient and always ready to help in an emergency. I would thoroughly recommend them and will continue to use their services.

Bike wouldn’t start due to engine problem, brought it to DMC by recovery van as they said they would look at it immediately. Basically, with a non-starting bike, they had me over a barrel once I got it in there, and they knew it. They took two months to have it looked at properly, and as I was charged for 8 hours of work, you can do the maths on work rate per day (or month?). Replacement parts weren't even ordered until week 7. Every week I was told it should be ready the following week, it was only finished when I finally lost (an excessive amount of) patience and said I would return with a recovery van and bring it elsewhere. Only plus side is after waiting two full months, the bike was driving, so I suppose if you are in no rush and are still willing to pay top dollar, you could consider them. Over all, a mind-bogglingly bad service and equally indifferent attitude. Avoid this place if you can, London is full of more realistic alternatives.
