My experience of the Oxford street store is bad.Two hours four minutes on the phone only to be cut of. I took a screenshot of the wasted phone call.My question to the store was of great importance to me.
Do yourselves a favour stop using the word express

I have been wearing glasses for 25 years, and used Optician all across the UK.
I can say without hesitation VE oxford street is by far the best I have used,
Pleasent professional and a great service and after service, when I wanted my glasses updated.
Thanks once again, a very satisfied customer, who will definitely come back.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I have been wearing contact lenses/glasses for around 15 years now, so have had my fair share of eye tests and check ups in both NZ and England. Vision Express was by a long shot the worst opticians I have been to in that 15 years. They are disorganised, lack any real professionalism and they managed to get my lens precription wrong twice, with the excuse that their eye measuring machine (I believe this was referred to as the autorefractor) gave them the incorrect reading (even though 15 mins previously I had been told that this was a machine which gave readings which were 99% accurate), and also that I had a stimatism (it was certainly the first I had ever been told about this in my 15 years of getting regular eye tests). The optometrist (if she was actually qualified as an optometrist..) argued with me even though I tried to explain to her that I could not see anything through the lenses she had precribed!

I think this experience has very much reduced my confidence in Optician Franchises, so I will definitely be switching to a locally run Opticians for my future appointments!

This store lacks professionalism and integrity. My experiences as follows:

- Was not told upfront about the diagnostic test (did not tell me it was optional but made me think it was part of the core test). They charged extra 25 pounds putting my total cost to 50 pounds. I later discovered that average cost is around 20-25 pounds for an eye exam.
- Was not told at any point that I needed to schedule a separate appointment for an acuity test or to "fit" my contact lenses. Not even when I called twice to check on the order and when told it had arrived, I noted I would pick up. Only told once I got to the store that I would need to make an appointment and come again
- SpecSaver (who saved me from this debacle) subsequently discovered that Vision Express had noted TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF LENSES for my right and left eyes. Two completely different lenses.
