Merlin Shoes

Went into the shop wanting to buy some Birkenstock sandals. Asked the young man serving me if he could fetch me a certain pair in my size. They were out of stock, so I asked him whether he could just see what was in stock in my size. If I liked them, I was going to buy them. Then an older lady, whom I assume is the owner, very rudely told me that if I just wanted to try on any size and didn’t buy them when I tried them on, she would need to charge me £5. Ummm… what if I just didn’t like the look or feel of the sandals - would I still have to pay £5? She said yes. I decided that I don’t want to do business with someone so money-hungry that she wants a sale above making sure that customers get the shoe that they want. Had she served me politely and the sandals fit well, I would have bought them and she would have made a sale. I was determined to buy sandals that day, and she lost a customer with her poor attitude. Hope she learns her lesson, but I also don’t recommend you purchasing anything from her. I certainly won’t be going back.

personal service, excellent staff who know about shoes they served our children with well fitted shoes that are good for their feet. we managed to buy all the shoes for the year under one roof. a real secret on of the best independent retailers that i have been to

excellent personal service received i would go there again. few shops around this days with one to one and good shoe fittings.
