Alexander Furnishings

Ive used Alexander’s furnishing for decades .
They have the most amazing range and after months of searching a trip here provided me with the perfect tie backs .
Recently in London ( pre covid) I was desolate to find it closed abs I thought gone!
Glad to find it today when checking to see where it was situated!

I live in Milano and on a visit to London found Alexander Furnishings. They had the fabric I had been searching for and said they could make what I needed. I emailed them the measurements they request and now I have a beautiful fitted bed cover with cushions.

On a brief visit to London I saw Key tassles in the window - just what I wanted. The staff were very helpful, items were not in stock but they took my order although very small, and the tassles arrived in the post within a week. Thank you for a prompt and efficient service.

It Was a pleasure visiting this old fashioned drapery shop.THe personal service was very pleasant and helpful and the choice of items and services was huge and far more reasonable than other shops and stores I have visited.

Popped into Alexander to look for curtain material. They had a pretty wide selection on the shelves at very good prices and hundreds of books. I had excellent help from one of the assistants, he gave me lots of advice and answered all my questions. He accurately calculated the length needed of my chosen fabric and will be checking the roll to make sure there is enough and giving me an estimate for making them up, tomorrow. Only comment is that the rolls of fabric did not have info on them, such as width, price, composition. I prefer seeing prices for myself...

Store has huge choice but most fabrics are in books rather than on hangers so difficult to browse without guidance.

Most staff (and there were loads) seemed more interested in chatting to each other than helping customers. Most requests for specific guidance were met with 'the books are over there' and a wave of the hand.

The store had attempted to scratch out the supplier names on swatch books - presumably to discourage customers from browsing there and then buying the materials at a well-known department store a couple of blocks away with good customer service.

Possibly the least helpful home decor store I've ever visited.

Mr. George at Alexander Furnishings is excellent. He has gone to endless trouble to find me just the right colour and material on more than one occasion. My friends also praise him. I don't know about the other members of staff because I have only ever dealt with Mr. George.

I called Alexander Furnishings and asked for some info. They said they would call me back with the requested info. They never called back. So, I called again and asked what time they closed as I thought it would be better to visit the shop. The man who answered the call was incredibly rude. He said "we close just before 6". I said "great, 6 o'clock", he said "no, just before 6 o'clock", then hung up the phone without even saying goodbye. I will not be using Alexander Furnishings!

Mr. George, who is on staff there, was very patient and helpful w/me. I had been working all the previous night and was a bit "foggy" with my needs and measurements. My only frustration is that I can't seem to locate an email address for Alexander Furnishings. The one I was given apparently wasn't complete and I can't send a message from Houston, Texas. Barbara
