Rose Tandoori

Good food, modest pricing, unpleasant staff.

I have been using this take-away for years and alays had great food and service. Value for money every time.

Having eaten food from the rose tonight i am most disappointed, and actually feel a little sick, especially after the rave reviews from Tom etc. The mains were nondescript with far too much of either chilli powder or sugar, couldn,t taste any spices, just that horrible heat you get from cheap chilli powder. The cauliflower was well over cooked, and the onion chutney was not a chutney, it was actually a plastic bag with some aged sliced onion in it. The naan tasted stale and was stone cold.
It wasnt the worse indian food i,ve ever had, but it just wasnt nice at all.
Have thrown the menu in the bin

I ordered a takeaway from the Rose because of the comments of the above two reviews....... can only think that the two reviews were written by two members of staff or by members of the owners family!
The food was the average bog-standard Indian that you can get from about 3 million places in the UK.
All dishes tasted the same with varying degrees of heat(not from fresh but powdered form), and some of the food was cold???? Considering that I live about 50 yards from their doorstep!
My advice is DO NOT BOTHER!!!

Astonishingly good, consistent (i've been a customer for over 8 years) and cheap. I've eaten at the Cinnamon Club and Moti Mahal and, quite frankly, they struggle to beat a good Rose. Seriously. That might sound like ridiculous hyperbole given its location and how it looks, but the cooking is superb.

Hotly recommended are Sag Wala Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken Jalfrezi and the Bagari Gosht. If you live in its delivery area and have never ordered, give it a try.

I had a take away from Rose and it was excellent, the chicken Jalfrezi was probably the best I've had. There prices are unmatched in the area and there food is excellent quality.
I would recommend it to others, the staff are really friendly and the order was delivered within the time given, and there all round service was excellent.
