We chose Lucky Day because our local Chinese has gone downhill - and we weren't disappointed. It was delivered quickly, it was piping hot, beautifully cooked crisp fresh vegetables, tasty crispy king prawns and aromatic spices. Had given up takeaways long ago as they all seemed to be far too oily, salty and sugary - but our dishes from Lucky Day last night were unexpectedly flavoursome. Don't judge the place by its photo!

Lucky Star is one of the top Chinese Takeaways I've tried. Their food isn't too greasy. I was very impressed by Spring Rolls, which were prepared at the premise, rather than using frozen one, and fried in perfection - crisp and non-greasy. Don't go for Shu Mei though. They are frozen products.

The staff at Lucky Day are very polite and efficient. I often order home delivery and it usually arriuves very quickly, they always say 45 mins but it is generally quicker.

The food is very good better than SPRING WAY which is almost next door and better than most I have tried (apart from the West End !).

The chicken with ginger and sping onion is good, the dry spare ribs excellent, the singapore noodles are just right.

It is very cheap and overall an excellent local Chinese.

Lucky Day seems to be fairly different from the more "standered" Chinese restaurants one encounters today, until i tried lucky day i often avoided Chinese food because it seemed to make my belly consistently uncomfortable, but, since trying Lucky Day i have found the food is consistently good and at a good price. I probably get lucky day about twice a week, overall the quality of food is indifferent to a Chinese (eat in) restaurant, serive is fast and polite.
One criticism i have of the place is the starter menu, it is a bit small.

Overall score,
Food 8/10
service 9/10
menu 7/10
price 8.5/10

Personal reconmendations: Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style
