Iraqi Grill House

This is my favourite place on Edgware Road.The food is great, the value is fab, and the service is friendly, helpful and warm.

Whilst the outside looks like a simple kebab shop and it is located on the less glamorous end of Edgware Rd, this is really a little gem.

The front is a take away, further in is a little cafe, and right at the back they have a little restaurant, so a set up for however you're feeling.

Go in and just ask to sit in the back, its like a lovely traditional Iraqi sitting room, beautiful colours, cusions and artwork, a TV with arab music. Really cosy and friendly.

The food is really good, reasonably priced and generous portions. Sabsi is my favourite, a bean stew with spinach, dill and parsley (with or without meat), but for meat eaters their schwarma kebab is to die for.

Oh, and always choose the naan bread!! Iraqi naan bread is different from Indian, with a slightly bicarb taste, like soda bread and here they make it fresh whilst you wait in their kiln oven behind the counter. They just slap it on the wall of the kiln and its done in a few minutes. Warm, soft and delicious.

The value is fab, and the service is friendly, helpful and warm.

The best thing is to order a few dishes and share them all amongst you. This is the arab way, so will give you a more authentic experience, plus its what is expected :)

The only thing I would change is the menu is not as vast as some other resturants, but defintely enough to go a good few times to try everything and find your favourites dishes.
