I had a "keratin treatment" done in covent garden one of the branch of tony and guy. I left the hair salon with dry hair but its when i washed my hair that i found out they was no keratin, i paid 120 and my hair was like before the treatment. So i complained ! Because i am used to do keratin treatment and having a good result at the end, also i have the right shampoo so the problem was the treatment wich wasnt right. The head office finally sent me to this salon tony and guy Islington branch. Marina was very kind with me she took all my stress out of me and did a perfect job !!

I had a terrible experience today at the T&G salon in Islington. I asked for some gentle framing around my face and was given "the Rachel". I was crying I was so upset and was told it was my fault as I had not explained myself properly. No apology, no kindness from the hairdresser (although the receptionist was lovely). It cost me £65 to leave the salon in tears. Never again.

I don't know why I went here!I don't mind paying the money if I am really pleased with the result.I wasn't!Too much was cut off,I only wanted a trim,my hair is also uneven, one side is longer than the other.I said how I would like it blow-dried,and the lady said she preferred it off my face swept back,I don't!I came out feeling thougroughly fed up.When I arrived for my appointment I had booked the highest level of hairdresser, and then was told that she wasn't available, I said that I wasn't happy, and then they said ok you can have her!I have long hair,I was in and out within 50mins! Never

Went in today for a wash cut and blow dry, booked myself in for the top stylist. She didn't ask much about what I wanted- just kept giving her 'professional opinion' over mine- ended up with a cut I always have and the whole reason why I went tony and guy was a different cut with a trusted salon. On top of that she didn't even ask how I wanted it blow dried and just curled it.. I never do curls!! Obviously meant I couldn't even see what the cut would be like straight. Disappointed! Even my local salons that charge one third of the price no better than this and always ask!

First salon colour in N1. I was not given advice, just told to pick a colour. It was applied roughly;I even asked the 'technician' if they were about to close she was in such a hurry. I asked for volume & left with lank, greasy looking hair 45 mins later & £75 poorer. Hitchin branch fab though

This toni and guy have the worst staff and the worst level of skill I have ever expeirenced in my life. I went in to have my hair lightened and came out with it exactly the same colour, was called a liar by a member of staff and would NEVER ever return to thtis branch again.

I always see the director - Edmund Dobney is absolutely fantastic.
The receptionists are hit and miss, sometimes you get the really good ones, other times you may be unlucky and get the bad ones.

I never feel pressured in buying products, which I have felt in other salons.

As I say I always have my hair cut by Edmund, who really knows his stuff and is very customer focused.

I will keep going there as long as Edmund is still around.

I would not recommend this salon. The receptionist is rude especially over the phone and the colourists do not seem to be trained very well. The girls who cut hair are much more pleasant and seem to know what they are doing but I would not advise anyone to have their hair coloured here.

I have had a terrible experience at this salon, after going in for a hair cut something one of the hair dressers who washed my have has put on my hair has led to my hair breaking, being really brittle and dry and damaged. (The girl sitting next to me when I was having my hair shampooed was having her hair coloured). I haven't treated my hair in any way for over 15 years and my hair was in fantastic condition. Do not go to this salon, they cannot be trusted.

Don't trust the positive reviews of the T&G Islington salon on this site! I've been to a number of their salons plenty of times, almost always with good experiences, but this one was totally substandard. The girl who cut my hair obviously didn't know what she was doing, in fact she did the exact opposite of what I told her. I could have got the same haircut at Mr Toppers for 7 quid instead of the 41 they charged me - at least that would have saved me the disappointment. Go at your own peril.

First time I had been to Toni&Guy and was in desperate need of a cut (6 months since my last haircut). I booked into Islington Branch as it was close to where I worked. All the staff were really welcoming and put you at ease. I met Noel who acted as my stylist. He was very friendly and explained everything as he went along. I had no idea what i wanted done on arrival but by the end I came out feeling great, a fantastic cut and overall a very enjoyable experience and top notch service. I will definitley be going back and booking with Noel again.

when i went to t&g islington i had a really good experience from begginging to end but in the middle wasn't to great. I had a art director and she was sooooo miserable and unfriendly! The hair cut was brilliant but didnt feel like she enjoyed her job!
The receptionist made me feel welcome and good about myself. They were friendly bubbly smiley. I will defiantly go back

I was sooo disappointed with T&G service today!!! I went there for the first time, expecting hair dressers to be professional! Were my expectations met? No!! Low customer service made me so disappointed! Besides, I think my clumsy boyfriend would have done a better job!

The area was dirty and not cleaned. Receptionist was totally unfriendly. Hair dresser had a face like she hated her job and me! Made me feel so uncomfortable and unwilling to come back. Ruined my day and my hair cut.. She left my hair wet in the roots!!! How professional is that??? I have long and thick hair which she was brushing with the tiniest brush in the world, pulling more hair than has left on my head. Besides, it took her longer to brush, than to dry it! Feel sooo angry and frustrated by such service.

Will never go there again as reputation of T&G is badly spoilt for me. Won't recommend it to my friends either.

I also have had a couple of really positive experiecnes in the angel branch of Toni and Guy - I had my hair cut by Carly there, and Manuel in the past at the westbourne grove T&G (when he was still there) - and both cuts were brilliant and spot on. I am moving back to Dublin in the new year and I don't know WHAT I am going to do!!! (Come back to London every 3-4 months for a haircut? Not such a bad idea!) - keep up the good work. Johanna

I recently went in to have a hair cut at Tony & Guy Islington and was served by Manuel who was polite and professional. He immediately understood what I wanted and provided me with good advice and professional service. My hair is long and thick and can take some time to do but he only took 45 minutes to cut and blow dry. I am very fussy about my hair being blow dried in a certain way and he managed to dry it to perfection and it lasted me until my next wash. Well done Manuel- loved the new cut.

After reading alot of negitive views on the Islington salon, i thought i must write a positive one. It was my first time to this Toni guy salon. I found the receptionist very pleasant on my arrival, my stylist was a new guy to the salon from wales STEVE check him out he is amazing, i could watch him cut all day what a talent he has, a friend of mine had her hair cut by him and recommended him to me, she knows how fussy i am. He put me at ease, straight away, loved the welsh accent. After talking and discussing my hair, i new i was in good hands, he was chatty but not over the top, you can tell he loves his job and wants you to walk out feeling good. He was very helpful with any questions i asked about hair products and how to get the best out of your hair when home styling. I found the salon a very busy one, the stylists all seemed to enjoy what they were doing, nothing was too much trouble for them at all. I loved my new hair style and will definately will be going back. I think just because its Toni Guy Salon, you still should check it out, find out about the stylists, do you know anybody thats been there, you always get good and bad where ever you go. I will be going back to steve or stephen as he is known. Hope this helps anyone who is going to visit the Islington salon.
