Useful Tips from AIL Users

My advice to any newcomers is to make sure you eat first and/or bring a snack if possible because it's hungry work being transformed into a beautiful goddess or god!

I got a great haircut for a fiver! The educators had a great manner and there was a really good, supportive atmosphere in the training room.

It would just take some minor tweaks to make this a 10 star review. For example, newcomers need to be provided with an explanation of how the system works before arriving. There could easily be a page on the website with specific information, or you could just receive an email with further info after booking. I was given what I thought was an appointment time of 1.30 but when I arrived there was a huge queue out of the door already! No one came out to explain to me what was going on and I actually wondered if I was even at the right venue. I found out from the regulars that there are no timed appointments and you just need to wait in line, which is why the wait can be 3-4 hours. It would also be helpful if there was an explanation of why some people who are behind you in the queue get to go in before you- sometimes it seemed that people were being cherry-picked and fast tracked and I'm not sure why. The whole process lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes for me, so it would have been nice if I was offered a drink of water whilst waiting.

My advice is: expect to queue, expect to be there for the full 3-4 hours and bring your own water for a drink. I'd also recommend taking entertainment with you (a book or netflix on your phone).

But that said, you should get a good haircut!

I work part-time and have been a regular at the Academy for the last 5 years. I consider going there a lovely day out with the added bonus of a fantastic haircut or colour at the end of it.
Franco on Reception is wonderful and although frantically busy makes everyone really welcome and cares deeply about the students as do all the Educators. They welcome me back time after time.

I am a regular now and have never been let down. I get my hair cut and coloured there. The only draw back is it can take up to 6 hours to colour so be prepared to be there awhile

It was my first visit to Tony@Guy Academy and it will not be my last.

At first I was a bit scard however after meeeting the staff I felt alot different, the best part of it is the senicrs, they talk you as well as the students through everything and keep an eye on all and that really is a comfort.

My hair looked and felt amazing, credit to all staff.

It was a great experience and I am looking forward to my next vist.

I have gone to Toni & Guy at the academy for the past 5 years to have my hair highlighted both full head and half head. The teaching staff are amazing and are among the most experienced professional staff you will find in London. Everything is discussed. It is the most comprehensive consultation you will find anywhere and you will get fab color. The student has to work out the chemical combination to achieve the results you want. This is checked by the tutor and the calculations and technique meticulously discussed. You will get what you want if you explain correctly and come prepared.

treat your models as paying customers-as it is two way street ans as much they need you you need them too!horrible experience as they are very pendantic when they interest is concerned and very laid back when your time and arrangements are concern.despite the fact that you do not go there for free your are treated as second class customer.bitter taste

I was plesently suprised at how good and professional the hairdressers were.
I was a little nervous before going but when i was there, there was a teacher there the whole time supervising and guiding the staff.
It was great value for money of just £5 which i would have found hard to find a good haircut anywhere for that price.
Would thoroughly reccommend do both men and women.
Have your say
