Good news please!! Should we have a good news slot?

I was just listening to the evening news on Radio 2, which let's face it - is fairly light, hardly high-brow Radio4 fodder - but the news was really sad and depressing. I was in the middle of making the evening meal and happily waiting for my other half to come home and after I'd listened to the news I was left feeling thoroughly depressed and down in the mouth.

And this isn't Radio 2's fault - all news is like this; but it can't be good for our spirit (personal or national) if all we hear is this depressing stream of misery. Then I thought, why don't we have a regular section in every news bulletin that's dedicated to good news? They have a sports section in every bulletin, why not something uplifting?

Would everyone like to hear this or is it just me?

Thanks for posting.
I think we had something on the forum a couple of years ago, suggesting the same thing, so reckon there's a definitely an appetite for some feel good news. I think we even looked into supplying it but found happy news really hard to track down!

Anyway, great suggestion, let's see what everyone thinks...
