Hi!

I am travelling up with some friends and family from Cornwall for the U2 concert at Twickenham on the 18th June.
We are meeting some family in Edgeware Road and we then need to get to Twickenham from there.
Can someone please confirm if I have the best and most importantly, the EASIEST route listed below!

Tube - from Edgeware Road to Waterloo
Train - from Waterloo to Twickenham (without any changes please!)

Will all of this be inlcuded if I buy a London Travel Pass for each of us? If I am correct we need to travel after 930am and back before 400am the next day.

Look forward to hearing from someone!

Thanks

Hiya,

Edgeware Road to Waterloo is simple enough... Just jump on the Bakerloo line. As for Waterloo to Twickenham if I recall correctly there are several direct trains, look out for the ones with fewer stops as they're obviously faster. Wink I've often gone from Twickenham to Waterloo and vice versa as used to go to the college right near the rugby ground... It's a fairly quick journey.

I think a one day travel card each should be fine, but I'd double check first just to be sure.

Hope that helped... xXx

Hi burz,
Welcome to The Knowledge.
And thanks for your answer TaniaP.

A travel pass will be fine. You'll want zones 1-5, but as the 18th is a Saturday you may as well get a zones 1-6 as they're only £6.

You'll be OK to use the pass all day until 4:30am on Sunday morning.

Have a great time at the concert.

All the best,

Thanks AIL Staff!

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I have just been informed that we are now meeting family in Wimbledon instead of Edgeware Road!
Using this travel pass, am I still ok to get a train from Wimbledon to Twickenham? It looks as if I have to make one change at Clapham Junction.
Please confirm!

Once again sorry! Embarassed

No problem,
You'd normally be able to take a straight through train from Wimbledon to Twickenham, but there are enginerring works planned for the 18th June; so you're right, you'll have to change at Clapham Junction. The entire journey should only take about 30 mins though.

The trains are pretty regular with about 6 per hour and you can buy a cheap day return for the journey from the station for £3.50.

If you need any of this confirming you can call Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950.

All the best,

Great! So no need to buy a Travel Card then? Just a return ticket from the station?

Yep, just the return ticket will be fine.

Have a good time!
