Hello folks,

We are a young couple thinking about moving to London in the near future. We are seeking advice on which would be perfect place for us to live. I will be working in the city Centre, Near Waterloo tube station.
We are looking for something that's not going to be too expensive, but need atleast 2 bedrooms. We want to live somewhere with a bit of character, quiet and safe. Would appreciate your complete un-adultrated honest opinions and advice.

Cheers.

Ok then, if you want safe, quiet and inexpensive you need to be looking outside of the central areas, somewhere like Kingston would allow you to get a lot more for your money, the only problem though is the commute, although the train goes direct into Waterloo.

If you want something central you're not really going to get quiet and safe and with at least 2 bedrooms on a budget.

I'd recommend you have a look at some of the property sites like findaproperty - you'll be able to get an idea of what your budget will stretch to in central areas and outside areas.

Hope that helps,
Mogwai

Thanks Mogwai. Certainly gives me food for thought. Can you tell me what is minimum salary to get a decent life in London. I am at the negotiation stage and would like to put a realistic picture.
Would appreciate your help.

Does anyone know the Northwood, Middlesex area and know if it is a safe place to live for a single woman? Is it close to a tube station into London?
