Hi all,

Me and a couple of friends need to be in London in mid July for an exhibition we are doing. Unfortunately we don't know enough nice people to sort of us with somewhere to sleep so we need to find something. What are the chances of finding a one week rent? I have looked a bit but not with much joy. There are obviously holiday apartments etc but they are all pricey and have way more than we need. I have seen that people put adverts on gumtree saying they want the same thing however that surely just attracts scammers?

Your thoughts would be very welcome

I'm afraid, because it's London, it's going to be pricey. Unless you stay in a hostel or something. I dunno, as I live here, I've never had to book accomodation here.

What about University accommodation - some of them let out rooms over the summer to tourists I believe. Might be worth a try.

Other than that what about a hostel? Depends on the kind of accomodation you need I suppose.

I have stayed in university accomodation before in the past as a tourist and it worked quite well. I forget what Uni it was though as it was more than 10 years ago. All I know is that it was near Earl's Court tube stop. Also the YHA hostel near Holland park is not bad either.

You could always try an EasyHotel although I recon the room would be quite small.

I am coming to London this summer on Holiday and I found a studio Holiday Flat in Hammersmith for £40 a night. If that is within your price range you dont mind staying that far out I can give you the contact information for the geezer who runs the place.

Cheers then and good luck.

Sincerely,
