Did anyone notice I have not been around for about 3 weeks?
Had a major operation on June 30th, I have to say with the exception of one or two of the ward staff ( the tea man who did not know coffee from hot chocolate and one night nurses who was as sour as they come) the entire team were fantastic!

The communication between the surgeons I had two lucky me! the nursing staff and the specialist nursing team was faultless. The after care is superb, I have to say a big thumbs up for the NHS. A big thanks too as they never get enough praise. The porter who took me to the op was hillarious, and could give Lenny Henry a run for his money. The ward was spotless, and cleaned within an inch of its life daily.Food was a bit naff!

The only bad thing was I missed the wonderful sunshine. Crying

So far they have done themselves proud!!! Applause

Ooh hope you're feeling much better now...

I agree re NHS - when I had my baby 2 years ago, I had exactly the same thing; the initial midwife was a bit odd and one of the night cover nurses was very sour, but other than that it was a seamless job and the emg cesarian op I had to have was fantastic - healed really quick.
One bad thing I do still have to say is that now that baby nr 2 is on the way and I have lots of appointments and things to go to, it always seems to be the case that I have to wait for ages to be seen, even when i have a specific time slot. Worst one was arriving at 10.15 for a 10.20 appointment and not being seen until 12.35..then they wanted to do a couple more things and i didn't end up leaving until 16.45!!

Overall, fab job though and I really do appreciate all those involved.

My mummy is a nurse. Is pitiful what they get paid.

(p.s. Anyone could give Lenny Henry a run for his money. He's as unfunny as the clap).

Hope you're feeling a bit better now hun.

I think most people tend to focus on the negative things in the nhs & forget about the good bits.

In general i've had good experiences when i've been in hospital.

When i had my daughter my emergency c-section 5 years ago the staff were fantastic. I was losing huge amounts of blood if they hadn't been quick enough both of us would have died. I was in HDU for around 4 days & the staff there were wonderful. When i finally managed to get out of bed 2 days later some of the staff clapped & were saying it was nice to see me up & how well i was looking......... well considering the last time that doc saw me i was nearly about to meet my maker.... of course i'd look better

I have met some dragons  but on the whole most of the staff are wonderful. My recurrent miscarriage consultant at queen charlottes is amazing. I think appointments are supposed to be 10-15mins long. When i last saw him we had a good old chin wag for 50 mins :speechless: Ooops
