hello,

Im planning on moving to london this summer and im looking to move to east but ive heard differing stories on how good/bad it is.

Im interested in being closer to central london so im looking at whitechapel/bethnal green. Anyone know what these areas are like to live in? Rough? Nice?

What about if you go further east towards Stepney and Bow? Any good?

Any advice will be helpful.

Cheers.

East London is great! Youll Love it! I live here! There is so much to see and do, and the area is the perfect mix of modern office skyscrapers and old east end buildings. Bethnal Green Road and Shoreditch is where all the cool kids live / all the trendy arty kids and many different cultures mix here. Brick Lane has a million curry restaurants and massive markets on weeks. And everything is very cheap, whether it be dinner out, or drinks in a local independent bar (no chains here!) or the small supermarkets. In North Greenwich you have the O2 which is a monster live entertainment centre, and in canary wharf there is a big shopping complex. I work in central London and love that area too, but it is nice to get away from it all in the evenings and weekends at home in east London!
