I know this forum is for general chat but it looks like it is the most active and I am desperate to find my beloved bird.

We are absolutely devastated when we discoverd that our beloved parrot had got spooked and flown out of our house, as someone had left the back door open. This happened on Monday 10th August 2009 at about 7:00pm. She is only 2 years old.

The Parrot went missing around the Harrow area, near the Marlborough hill school. We have posted leaflets through doors, put up posters, informed vets, and in the process of taking out newspaper adverts, doctors surgeries, in the area but haven’t had any sightings. We miss her so much and it feels like our hearts have been torn out of us from the inside. My younger siblings are inconsolable.

Bird-Aid informed us that it is posible that she may well have gone to someone for help as she is tame. We are appealing for information from anyone that may have seen her or may know of someone that has her. Also Bird-Aid informed me that she could have flown as much as 50 miles away although the likelihood is that she is somewhere nearby.

Therefore I am appealing to everyone in London. If you see a green pigeon size bird then please get in touch! Our life has come to a stop and we are worried about her and want her home soon.

**We are offering a BIG reward for information confirming her whereabouts leading to her returning home**

Description:
Bright Green all over
Yellow around her eyes and slightly on top of her head
red/blue coloured feathers UNDERNEATH her green wings
a few red/blue tail feathers but mainly green
she is similar to the size of a pigeon

Please if you know where she is or if you have found her please contact me on:

There are loads round where I live. So if I did spot this bird, I wouldn't know if it was a wild one or not.

Thank you for your posts: Elliex & krunchie frog ^_^ Yes there are parakeets out there - but my parrot is different.

She's larger than them, the green is probably the same but you see she has red feathers within her wings, and she also has red and yellow feathers in her tail. Also she has a ring around her right leg.

Thank you for keeping an eye out :)

Thank you for all taking the time to read my post! I have great news!!!

Tia my Parrot has been brought home safe and sound at 23.55pm on Friday 14th August 2009!

This lovely family in Stanmore found Tia in a tall tree in their garden and they noticed that she was eating alot of rotten fruit. They left some fresh fruit out for her and then managed to catch her. This family also have a parrot of their own and they were able to handle Tia.

The family googled LOST & FOUND pets online and as I had reported Tia as missing online, they contacted me! I was over the moon when I recieved the call, but a little apprehensive after several calls that had led to dead ends. I rushed over to the callers home, hoping that it was my baby.

I was relieved to find that it was my baby, who recognised my voice and called out to me. Tia and I have been reunited and we are all overjoyed. I cant believe how lucky I was this time. I will never let her out of my sight again!

Just as I was losing hope, and wondering if I would ever see Tia again, the best news in the world was that one phone call. Tia is happily home and sleeping peacefuly. I am so relieved she is home safely.

I recommend others, if you have lost a pet the best thing is not to give up looking and post them missing online on lost and found websites! There are good people in this world and even when you feel like giving up, dont! Have faith.

Once again I would like to say a huge thank you to you all ^_^
