Driving in to Central London on Sunday

Hi,

I'll be driving to London down the M1 on Sunday 16th. There will be 5 people in the car so it might be worth driving to central London rather than parking at Stanmore underground station and taking the tube.
Can anyone advise if free or low cost parking is feasible near Central London from say 10am Sunday morning until 6pm?
