Anyone do anything nice?

We had family visiting for half of the weekend and went to the fire station open day with our daughter, she was largely indifferent to the whole thing.

How wrong did they get the weather?

I was out for the most of the weekend. On Monday took a river-bus from Camden Lock to Little Venice. Bought some stuff that I probably won't need in Camden Market, made ny daughter unbelievably happy by getting for her new cool , as she said, jacket with funny japanese faces and characters to match her backpack. Also went to the cinema watched Aliens in the attick with my Georgia, ate a lot of chips with chicken in Nandos. Well it was a very pleasant weekend.

My weekend started on friday, I booked the day off work. Bought the new Batman game and as I sat down to play it I got a phonecall about a bike. I've been after a bicycle for the other half to cycle to work and save money/get fit.

I decided to go pick it up as a present. Got train and tramlink to Purley way. pickerd it up. they wouldn't let me back on the tram so I cycled across Mitcham common (well pushed the bike up a hill then free-wheeled down it - heeeeeee). Got halfway through Mitcham and a pedal fell off. Walked the bike to South Wimbledon and got hte pedal fixed but was very annoyed. The other half appreciated the present and then fell off the bike on his first day of having it. He's been feeling sorry for himself ever since.

Saturday I played Batman at last and in the evening went to a birthday party. Was only going to stay for 3 hours. Woke up the next morning on their floor.

Last night I had band rehearsal and it went well. We may at last have a name, too!

You can't leave it there, what is it? :)

Sounds like you had pretty full weekends then. I also bought the boxed set Series 1 - 6 of Curb your Enthusiasm and Series 1 and 2 of Flight of the Conchords, slowly getting through those.

I also for some reason doubled my daily calorie intake over the weekend with crisps, chocolate and wine gums.

Wow my life is so boring compared to everyone elses  :-?

Went for Acupuncture on Friday which was ok.... not seeing any benefits so far :confused2:

Saturday - Went to church with the kids, then walked them all to tescos & then to homebase to buy a tree for the garden. Bought a small tree & some vegetable seeds. Had a sulking daughter most of the way cos 2 of her brothers had found money on the way.... all of 5p & 1p :bangin:
She cheered up when she spotted 20p on the way home.... so did better than the boys.
Got home, did lunch then made some cupcakes for someone, birthday cake made the day before. Then had to frantically 'touch up' the birthday cake 5 mins before the lady came to collect it as my youngest decided to stick his fingers in it & take loads of icing :bangin:
Which reminds me i haven't replied to Jacqs.... sorry hun, i completely forgot.... if you read this.... i'm sorry :emb:

Sunday was a nice quiet day - all went to the cemetery to visit my daughters grave.... well my dad too & my sisters baby too.
Went over to a friends brothers grave, he died in a motorbike accident recently. He's right near my daughters grave, he was only something like 26yrs old.
Went home, did some comping & hubby & the kids went to his mums for a few hours.............ahhhh peace & quiet.
Spent most of sunday not doing much.

My mum has just bought me a bike to cycle to work & so i can cycle home for lunch, which will save me 10-15 mins which is good. Bike is coming tomorrow i think. I haven't been on a bike in years so i'll probably fall off.... or i may even get road rage :emb: if any cars get too close to me.

Sounds busy to me Daisy.

Be careful on that bike, have you got a helmet? Essential in London traffic IMO.

I'll be mainly going on the back streets but i will be getting a helmet.... don't fancy falling off & finding my head near the wheels of a car or anything. My mum wants to go cycling with me :confused2: im not convinced i'll be able to ride in a straight line yet :smug: plus i barely have any energy these day to do anything let alone going cycling in the evenings.

Will try & locate a nice helmet tomorrow on my travels, will have to find somewhere now thinking about it. Forgot that halfords closed down in hammersmith.... ages ago :confused2:
