Where to find demographic facts about London?

Hey everybody, I´m a Danish university student who is doing a project about underground music in London, and particulary grime...

It´s quite easy to find litterature etc. about the music stuff, but I´m having trouble finding demographic facts and statistics about London, and especially the east side of town...

Or maybe some sociological studies that have been made...

Does anybody have any ideas???

In Denmark we have a homepage called "danish statistics", where you can find practically anything... Do you know if there is an English pendant to this?
