How are people going to pronounce the New Year?

2009 has, particularly in the UK, been pronounced as "Two thousand and nine" instead of "Twenty-oh-nine" however a debate is raging as to whether 2010 is "Two thousand and ten" or "twenty-ten".

Personally, I pronounce it "two thousand and ten" (even though the London Olympics is I state as "the twenty-twelve olympics"Wink as I just think it sounds nicer.

What does everybody else think?

twenty ten

We don't say one thousand ninehundred and thirteen for 1913.

the two thousand and- works for 2009 and beforehand, but it's going to get a bit of a mouthful one year...

Lol, what a random topic.

Krunchie made a very good point there. I do like the sound of two thousand and ten, only because we've been saying it since the noughties were afoot. But twenty ten is probably best...

It's not a random topic Aly, it's vital that we get this sorted as a collective or we're going to have a very rocky 2010 with people not knowing what's going on and when.

;):)
