What are you thoughts on the London Olympics?

Will it benefit the city? Leave a legacy? Or will it only cause transportation disruptions and overcrowding?

I'm conducting a survey to get the Londoners perspective on the Olympics, if you have a minute to spare, please complete the survey, it will be a big help Happy

Thank you so much for your time!

'transportation disruptions and overcrowding' - yep. Including the cost of public transport in London increasing and I imagine, when the Olympics are over, not decreasing again. And not just transport costs, but a lot of things in London will get more expensive to rinse money from the tourist. And us residents.

My guess is it will be an amazing spectacle of an event but will be massively expensive and only really benefit big business in the long term.

You only have to read the terms and conditions on the Olympics website to see how they're stopping the media and local London businesses from using anything to do with the games for profit.

It's very sad that the people and businesses who are paying for it are being banned from gaining from it to allow huge corporate sponsors based in tax-havens to reap the rewards.

we are waiting for you in Sochi 2014!!))

I don't know will you agree with me or not, but as for me, Oly games like a... callosity sometimes: government, press and everyone will speak about problems in sport BUT! you will understand that nothing will be shared! And your pride about country, your patriotism will be mixed with the sense of sadness... It is terrible for me.

^^)it were "minds aloud"))
mmm...may be you have no great problems with sport in GB.. because of that its rather hard to understand my senses..in RF sport is an enthusiasm on 90%: without money, equipment and government's support. This winter Oly games showed our problems again and i hope that something will changed...and games in London will be more successful.

Will it benefit the city?[?quote]
i can't tell something about London, but can tell you That in Sochi (2014 winter Oly games) there are a GREAT count of different sport buildings now- it is benefit, BUT this city became too expensive for tourists and nationals(Sochi is a health resort) and it is more cheap to go to Europe sometimes - it is bad moment.
