Hi - I wonder if anyone can help?

We are going to London on Saturday from the midlands (down the M40). We are planning on Going on the London Eye and then heading to Croydon to stay with friends for Saturday night.

What do you suggest is the best way to get quickly in to London and then on to London? We won't be hanging around in Central London so is it better to drive in to the centre or park and ride from further out?

Any advice is most appreciated!

I'd say, seeing as you're only doing one thing, you may as well drive through London and park in town. It's just very expensive.

I'm not sure of the route and north London areas to tell you if parking and getting the train.tube would be better.

Though there's even the option of driving straight Croydon and going via public transport from there....?

Exactly what I'd say. If you're just going to have a wander around the South Bank and go on the London Eye I'd recommend driving straight in and parking in a nearby NCP

As krunchie frog said the next best option is to drive to Croydon and then get the train in and back for the evening.

Driving in on the M40 is pretty straight forward, you just stay on the motorway pretty much all the way to Euston station then turn right along Tavistock Square, Southampton Row, The Kingsway, then right at the bottom around the Aldwych roundabout, then left over Waterloo Bridge and there's the London Eye :)
