Is it possible to buy a 1 day travelcard in advance at a railwaystation ticket office for the London area?

Background for this question:

I will gtravel to London next week and arrive at ST Pancrass in my party is a child 13yrs old. We did not have enough time to preorder the oyster-fotocard for 11-15yr, beside this we want to use the 2for1 promotion entry to attractions (for this I need a paper ticket with the nationalrailway sign)

I understand that I can buy a paper 1 day travelcard at the railwayticket office but do not want to return to the station each next (4) days.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Regards, Ron

Hi Ron,

Welcome to All In London

You can buy travel cards at any Tube station so you wouldn't have to return to the train station to get one. You could also buy a 7 day travel card.

All the best,

Thanks for your response, but a travelcard from the tube station will not work as the 2for1 entry promotion action is only valid with a (paper) ticket bought at a national railway station.

Off peak day travelcard to London

If you are visiting the capital for the day from outside of London and you wish to get around by public transport when you arrive, then get this ticket for not much more than the cost of a Cheap Day Return.

Valid out and back on the same day. On arrival in London you get complete freedom to travel on London’s tubes, buses, trains, Docklands Light Railway and Tramlink.

Travel on any day of the week but cannot be used Monday–Friday at peak times to or from London. You can buy them on the day of travel, or up to 7 days in advance.

So according to that you can buy them from the ticket office up to 7 days in advance.
