How do you feel about the results of the general election?

It should be interesting with a coalition government.

Are you happy with the results or are you distressed or worried?

When I lived in London there was a very high anti-Torry sentiment and right before I left "New Labour" and Blair were swept into power.

I remeber the day after the general election Blair was saying how one of his aides said that the Deputy Prime Minister wanted a meeting with him and he was like "What on earth does Michael Heseltine want to do with me after that general election?" Then he realized that they meant John Prescott

Anyway as a Yank I am curious on your takes regarding this.

Well I hope it can offer the country more than 'interesting'

The nation clearly has a lot of issues that need strong and decisive government. I like to think (perhaps naively) that whatever coalition gets formed, it will put the nation first and make every effort to achieve the widespread progress that we are all hoping for.

Some political stability and economic calm would be a promising start ... :geek:

Still a little bit undecided to be honest.

It's a very strange coalition and I'm still not sure how the values/policies are going to meet in the middle.

All of the cabinet seem to be putting on a brave face and be very complimentary about each other but I wonder how long this can realistically last for.

It was interesting watching Chris Huhne defend the forthcoming cuts in spending on Question Time last week, almost sounded like a Tory!

Im with you on that one. We have a TERRIBLE political situation now in the US. Although I never wish my summers away I am looking forward to November this year as we are eager to boot this bunch of senators and representives out. This current 1 party rule in the US is a complete disaster.

I think the result reflects real life experiences where people with different idea and opinions need to work together, so it should be interesting to watch develop.
