Help finding a location in London...

Back in 1992, my wife and I spent a wonderful week in London, but we are completely unable to remember where we stayed. The hotel was a mid-level hotel (not a bed and breakfast) on a narrow street - on the street we can recall a tea and pastry shop in a semi outdoor setting, possibly next to a older church - there was also an Italian restaurant near one end of the street and a small coffee shop near the hotel with a large espresso machine behind the counter. We were near a large museum, possibly the British Museum, which we saw when we were heading to the tube station a few blocks from the hotel.

Unfortunately, we don't have many other clues, and I know by now shops could have easily come and gone - plus this probably sounds like most of London. We think we were in the vicinity of Euston, and we think the hotel had a short two word name like Earls Court or something similar.

If any of this sounds familiar, I'd appreciate a location to go Google. Meanwhile, I'll keep virtually walking around the areas hoping to spot a landmark... Thanks in advance!
