housing advice --please help

Hi--

NEed advice on some areas in London for living--safe, reasonable, for a single woman? and hoping to find something in teh range of 650 per month
and be around tube lines and be able to get to central london as well in a reasonable time.

What about places like:

Finchely,
Tottenham


Wembley

Harrow

Any other recommendations...

I hear southeast is cheaper--any decent areas in south east close to tube?
