Things we really should have solved by now...

Thought it might be interesting to hear about those things that annoy you in day to day life that probably have a simple solution, but are as yet unsolved.

I'll start...

New toilet rolls.
Why can't they invent a way of glueing the loose piece of toilet roll to the rest of the roll that doesn't involve you having to ruin about 5 layers of the toilet roll when you try to unstick it?
