In line with its vision of “keeping alive the tradition” of Indian Classical Music & Dances, NAAD is organizing this Present & Future series where young & talented artists are given an opportunity to showcase their talent as ‘solo’ performers alongside established artists.

Present:

Sitar & Santoor Duet by Pt. Sanjay Guha & Ustad Kiranpal Singh:

This is one of those rare opportunities to listen to the duet (jugalbandi) between two maestros of Sitar & Santoor. Pt. Sanjay Guha on Sitar & Ustad Kiranpal Singh on Santoor.

Accompanying them on Tabla is Pt. Rajkumar Misra.

Pt. Sanjay Guha, a disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar & Pt. Deepak Choudhary, is a distinguished sitar artist from the Senia Maihar Gharana & is known for reviving traditional compositions. A performer par excellence, he is a very talented composer and a dedicated teacher.

Ustad Kiranpal Singh is a world class santoor player and one of the leading disciples of Santoor Virtuoso Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma. He has gained respect and admiration for his virtuoso performances & for his mastery of the advanced techniques of the instrument, combined with a creative flair and spontaneous imagination.

Future:

Hindustani Vocal Solo performance by Radha Mehta:

Radha Mehta is a senior disciple of Chandrima Misra of the Patiala Gharana. She is a very talented & an upcoming Hindustani vocalist. Accompanying her on tabla is Pt. Rajkumar Misra & on harmonium is Dinesh Venkateswaran.

Tabla Solo performance by Parth Gharfalkar:

Parth is a disciple of Pt. Rajkumar Misra of Jaipur Gharana. He began his tabla training in India, under the tutelage of Pt. Pankaj Naik of Punjab Gharana at the age of 6. This is his debut solo performance & he will be playing an array of traditional compositions. Accompanying him on Sarangi is Ustad Surjeet Singh.
