Hello everyone! I'm hoping to find people from England (namely, London) ready to take some time and help my friend with her book. Unfortunately, she doesn't speak English herself so she asked me to do this for her. She is writing a story, based in London and wants to be as precise as possible in describing various locations. What she wants to know is:

- if there is a popular/famous summer theatre or an open-air venue in the suburb of London and how much it takes to get there from the centre + how to get there

- if there is a well-known place (pub?) where bikers or rock musicians hang out (I know that there can't be just one, but maybe there is something legendary or a place that immediately comes to one's mind when they think of rock music and that kind of parties)

- where a famous journalist can live? Is there a quarter where media stars reside?) Or where would you live if you were one?

- maybe there is a supertrendy restaurant, a must-visit for this summer or a posh place, famous for its intereior?

This is it, I will be very glad if you post you suggestions here or will add me on Skype. My nick is quasitu. You can also email me @ [email protected] Thanks in advance!

One thing - make sure your friend doesn't refer to London as a suburb...

Isn't there on in Regent's park?

Fleet Street is synonymous with journalism and the press, not sure how much residential accommodation is there.

Hope that's of some use.

YES THAT'S RIGHT - IT'S ON EVERY SUMMER. IT'S NOT IN THE SUBURBS THOUGH BEING JUST NORTH OF THE CITY CENTRE. YOU'D GET THERE BY BUS OR A TUBE TO REGENTS PARK AND A SHORT WALK.

ANOTHER OPTION IS KENWOOD HOUSE WHERE THERE ARE THE ANNUAL PICNIC CONCERTS EACH YEAR. THIS IS A BIT FURTHER NORTH JUST ON HAMPSTEAD HEATH. YOU'D GET THE TUBE AND WALK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO GET THERE.

I GUESS THIS WOULD NOW BE CANARY WHARF/DOCKLANDS AS MOST PAPERS HAVE GONE OUT THAT WAY. NONE OF THEM ARE ON FLEET STREET ANYMORE THAT I KNOW OF.
