It would be interesting to get a take on what is the difference
from someone who was around the London scene in the 60's
compared with the London scene now .
Just watched the Dave Davies biog type film... with lots of clips
from the 60s ... seems like ancient history now !

I agree, that would be interesting. Come on, someone must have been around then.

It was just like Austin Powers, wasn't it?

Still never seen Austin Powers I'm afraid...

I know an elderly lady quite well who lives locally. She has told me all about what it was like when she lived in Surrey just after the war. It's really interesting speaking to people of that generation and to hear about the changes that have taken place. She said there were still water troughs about for the cattle that were used, talks about all the rationing and how little they had to get by on and generally how little they had in terms of material things... does make you realise how lucky we are now in many respects.

My grandad-in-law also used to tell us about how he worked on farms in Hereford and used to take all the veg in a cart to Covent Garden market every week. You can't imagine what it would have been like when everything was done so small-scale like that rather than by big trucks to supermarkets!
