Another pub bites the dust. Walked past this place yesterday and couldnt help but notice half of it was missing. Earlier this year, a walk down Praed Street led to the discovery that the Great Western had completely disappeared. Running out of watering holes at an alarming rate

It's sad isn't it, but not sure what we can do... a lot of pubs just aren't appealing enough in terms of location, price or crowd, so they need to sort out those things to attract more people in. My local always seems to be empty whenever I walk past, but because of that and because it looks a bit like an old man's pub, I never go in, which I know is the wrong thing to do...

I know the feeling only too well, but maybe if we actually went in them instead of walking past all the time because it looks like an old mans pub etc. they might be able to save a few of them!

I do my best when it comes to using pubs but even I have limits (financilly speaking) but it's true that pubs are closing because they are not being used. The Hog always seemed pretty busy probably due to its location (one of two pubs visible on Oxford Street) but it was there purely for passing trade, if money is tight for shoppers, the periferal businesses will be the first to suffer.
Sooz, I love old men's pubs but even they are few and far between now, too much plasticky themed gastro karaoke rubbish going on. Bring back real pubs for real people I say
