Hi All,

First thing to mention is my 3 children aged 10, 7 and 4.
Ok, we used to live in Surbiton but moved to Devon to a small seaside town to live a quieter life. Now we are all bored out of our brains and miss the hustle and bustle of London life.
We're going to move back but would like somewhere different as Surbiton just didn't seem right for us.
I wonder if anyone can suggest somewhere family orientated but still lively. I'd also love not to sit in traffic again all day long although I know that's a big ask! We really are flexible as to areas, Central London or surrounding areas. And are renting so can be flexible with that too.
I'd really like an area without too much youth gang crime as my 3 get a bit older and crazier!
I have a brother who lives in Hackney but have never been there so don't know what that area is like.
Pleeeease can someone offer me some advice to find my needle in a haystack???

Thanx

Welcome to All In London :)

I'd try somewhere like Walton On Thames, very family orientated, 25 minutes from Waterloo (a couple of stops after Surbiton).

You'll get a lot more property for your money, the commute is just as quick as if you were living in Richmond, you've got easy access to the M25/Heathrow - you can live the hustle and bustle of London life but at a safe distance!

I guess budget is the deciding factor though - any ideas on what kind of price bracket you're looking in? Obviously Richmond, Wimbledon or East Dulwich would be lovely, but sadly it always depends on if you can pay for it!!
