I've been to New York and remember how cool the bars are there - say in the meat-packing district for instance; none of the doors are marked, you really have to know where you're going. You enter in an unmarked door in the most unlikely area and then you head down some corridors which you can't believe is leading to a bar - and then it opens up into a venue which is full of people and buzzing with life. All very cool.

Anyone know of any underground bars like this in London?
I'm looking to impress someone with my underground connections! :)

Couple of cans of Stella on the tube?

You need a Speakeasy.

Try these:

Definitely go with a speakeasy. Or if you want something underground but a little less 'cocktail bar' then Thee Blind Mice Bar in Shoreditch is always fun.

Underground, low ceiling and excellent music. Win, win, win. The review will be on the site soon hopefully!
