Following on from the bars that woo you and the revelation that I am a total hotel bar lover I'd like to know your favourites. I'm stuck in my ways when it comes to experimenting and need some convincing to give the Soho hotel the elbow for something a little more formal.

Answers on a postcard - or alternatively below.

gotta be the met bar - at the metropolitan hotel on park lane. it's just been refurbed - haven't been since the refurb though. it wasn't actually the bar that I liked - just the chance of seeing a celeb!

Ahh, the Met Bar. It reminds me of reading my flatmate's Heat Magazine and seeing all manner of famous faces falling out of the Met Bar.

I have never been. I'd like to though. Also W. I has lunch in the Hong Kong W, which was very nice indeed. Perhaps a little too sterile looking from the outside though?

Get you!!

Off topic a bit, but I had drinks at the Intercontinental on Kowloon Bay side of Hong Kong harbour one night.
Oh. My. Gawd.
The entire side of the hotel bar is just a glass wall and at 8pm they do a synchronised laser show off the top of all the buildings in Hong Kong. Really not a bad view to go with your Long Island Ice Tea.

Getting back to the topic... We're hearing good thing about Bassoon at the Corinthia Hotel. Not sampled this first hand although one of our reviewers was very enamoured. Bassoon review >>>

The Sanderson hotel long bar is also pretty impressive, although expect to see lots of older gents dripping in money and young girls trying to peel it off them! Still worth going for the experience though

Definitely the Gilbert Scott bar in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, not actually the hotel bar (the Booking Office bar is) but is Amazing (yes, capital A). Fab cocktails and this great smoked butter and pepper popcorn that is delish. Very chic and great setting - a must.

yes heard about the Gilbert Scott - food is supposed to be really good in the restaurant now too (despite critics being rather harsh at the start)..
