What would you like to talk about at We Are London?

So far we’ve covered the closure of our beloved music venues, what London will look like in the future, whether it’s possible to be friends with estate agents, and mentoring prisoners.

But what would you like to talk about? Tell us about the worst place you’ve ever lived in, whether you give money to the homeless or prefer giving to charities, the minimum wage, zero hours contracts, tube workers going on strike, squatters moving into empty properties, gentrification, the Crossrail development, the 5p plastic bag charge, in short, anything and everything that affects you!

We want to hear your views at We Are London, because this is your home.

What about places like Starbucks and Costa Cofee offering unlimited coffee after you pay for the first one like Wetherspoons do? Or even start paying their taxes!

Have Costa also been accused of not paying their taxes? I hope not, as they have the best coffee IMO. I did wonder though whether there should also be a 5p charge on throwaway plastic coffee cups like the plastic bag charge; might encourage more people to buy the reusable ones??

I'd never actually thought about the amount of cups we throw away. Nearly everyone in my office picks up a takeaway coffee everyday - that's a lot of rubbish, just in one office, in one day!

Good news for Costa Coffee fans: they do pay tax, however Caffe Nero has not paid corporation tax since 2008 despite making sales of £1.2 billion!

That's a good point, as most cups are not recyclable because they're covered in plastic to keep the drink warm. Perhaps coffee shops should invest in using recyclable materials for their cups?

I would happily pay a 5p charge, with the profits going to make recyclable cups. And maybe they could allow customers to bring in their own mugs too.

We went to Florida for a holiday last year and it's just staggering how much rubbish they put in the ground there. We stayed in a hotel in Key West (admittedly, mid-range) and every single breakfast item came on/ in some disposable packaging. The drinks, the pastries, the jam, butter, rolls - even the banana came in a plastic sleeve. Nothing was going to be washed up and reused, all of it destined for landfill. It was staggering! There were just two of us and by the end our table was overflowing with crap. We looked around and everyone else's table was the same. That was just one breakfast sitting in one hotel. Key West must have produced 100s of tonnes of waste that morning.

Crazy!!!!
