Outside London Renting Advice

Hello.

Need advice on cheap/nice place to rent 1 bedroom flat outside London.

Basically I want a place outside London. I am a self employed individual working from home but with be coming into central London 2 - 3 times a week. So good transport link is a must with maximum travel time of 1 hour will be ideal.
