As for the situation on accomodation an easy way to find some temporary accomodation could be through the following website:

http://www.europeanhostels.com/fall/listings/england/london/

Another option which you should take into serious consideration is getting yourself into a flatshare scheme or lodging with another person. It is quite convienient in the fact that most would mean you have the added advantage of a hot meal at least once a day thrown in. Plus Im sure it would be alot more comfortable

There are some great rooms available at http://www.intolondon.com/flatshare/

When applying for any room try to find out if there is an option for a short trial, your money or even patientce may run out sooner than you think!

When it comes to jobs well all I can do is wish you luck on your search, but why not think about having a look through the following websites as well as here on all in London!

www.loot.co.uk
www.monster.co.uk
www.caterer.com
www.myrestaurantjob.co.uk
www.citypublife.co.uk

Now there is nothing left for you to do but to get on with it, I hope everything works out well for you.
