Looking for a place in or somewhat near London

Hi all,

Last week I got offered a great job at Yahoo! in London which is why I'm itching to move from Holland to London to get started. Therefore I'm looking for a decent place for three months at first, because that's the length of the initial trial period for the job. I also figured that once I'm in London it will be easier to find something more permanent.

I'm kind of overwhelmed by the complexity of finding a decent place so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not picky about size of the place or distance (max. an hour traveling is no problem to me). The only thing I don't want is a dangerous neighborhood. I can pay about 800GBP / month.
