Recentley featured on a credit card ad with Kate Winslet (if thats spelt wrong im sure I will be corrected), Camden Town and Camden Lock is finally getting a bit off mass media attention.

It's a beautiful place and in my view more uniquley diverse than any other part of London. Where else can you find a gothic shop next to an urban music shop next to a Thai resturant. But that is not just it, what you will realise about Camden is that the stores are all all orginals, even Dr Martin opened their flagship store in Camden, these are not repeated concepts and big chain franchises, this is shopping at the grass roots.

I would recommend that all you people out there in London town get down to Camden especially on a summer weekend when everyone is out, enjoy the sights, the smells, see the worlds races and cultures unfold before you in one street, then chill out afterward in one of Camden's many bars and resturants. My tip for this summers after shopping chillout is to go down to Ice Wharf on Camden Lock, it is the first modern bar with a great view, then once your done shopping and drinking finish off the day by taking a 5 min stroll down the beautiful which runs through Primrose Hill, Regents Park and little venice. Simply pop out after seeing the birdcages (FOR FREE!) on the canal in the zoo and walk up primrose hill for the perfect London city wide sunset where the view will stun and amaze you.

I never thought I would say this a few years ago but the London borough of Camden has loads to offer!

Good points, I always used to think Camden was a dump inhabited by grebs Surprised Since moving to St John's Wood I've walked over to the market on quite a few sundays. The food area is great, a really good mix, it's priced for tourists but is worth it.

Great point about the free zoo viewing along the canal, I noticed that the last time I walked back from Camden, you can see quite a bit on the far bank Happy

I love Camden, went there the last two times I was in London and fell in love with the place. Everyone seemed really friendly as well, which was a major plus!

I love Camden, it's one of my favourite places in London - in fact I will be there 4 times this week and I live in SE12!

It's getting better over the years as well - the market place is great with the food area, and I just bought the most amazing furniture at the Stables. The Dev (Devonshire Arms) is a great alternative pub for those that find the Interpid Fox too full etc.

And of course it is close to Primrose Hill which I also love.

Phew! *Rests feet* Ironically, just got in from there :D One problem with Camden, is the gimmies I get when I go there! I can spend 60 quid at the drop of a hat! There's just so much great stuff there. Latest purchase was a Goonies Tshirt!

Any thoughts on favourite shops? Mine has to be the upstairs shop for obscure DVDs, next to the weekend food market by the canal. There's a big Maralyin cut-out outside, which can't be missed! ;) Definately worth a looksie, and the guy who runs it is great for a chat!

Camden is my favorite place to go on the weekend. Maybe sometimes slightly over priced... but a fascinating area for teens. Cyberdog officially best shop EVER.

I don't know if anyone here is interested but The Stubbs are looking for a few fun people to join their street team and earn some money for their upcoming gig at The Cuban in camden stables.

Camden Stables is (was) by far the best bit of camden. Luckily The Cuban is on the edge of the huge area that they're destroying so it's still central to the market.

If you want to earn money promoting a quality gig in the best part of london: www.thestubbsmusic.co.uk

Join the team, print the flyer, earn the cash.

We're the only band in the world to pay commission to its team, join the movement!

I like Camden, but I find it and most of the people there, incredibly pretentious.
