I'm serious...I can't help myself. Laughing I don't like anything about London at all. I'm leaving tomorrow! It's over-priced, over-hyped and over-crowded. It doesn't offer anything that can't be had elsewhere in better climes for a fraction of the price. The only attraction it has is money and its (disappearing) English language. That's it. Take the cash from the equation and maybe 75% of the people who come here would go elsewhere. It has no charm and blows its own trumpet like a 35 stone Jazzer. All the nice things that are considered the norm in European places are hyped and 'priced' as 'Upmarket' or 'exclusive' in London. I've been here two weeks and that's enough for a lifetime.

Museums, art galleries, restaurants blah blah blah.. yeah, there are plenty of those but how often does the average Joe visit them to make them a staple of 'lifestyle'. Horrible place. Never again. Too many liberal idiots pulling strings here. Oh, by the way, I AM English too.

Paris...now there's a beautiful city. Yeah, the French can be incredibly surly but at least they don't pretend to be anything else.

'Taxi....Heathrow please.' Laughing

OK, so I'm not English. I have traveled/lived in many areas and I have to say that London is probably my least favorite place. For some reason (cheap airline ticket from American then easy to go everywhere else in Europe) people seem to go there often, like the accents, accept the horrible food, pay the prices and say, "I love London!" when really we all know it sucks. Very true that 75% of the people I know who live there do so because they make money and bring it back. How did this stupid wet and cold tiny lame island gain so much power back in the day? Everything about it is the opposite of why I travel to other places: bad food, bad weather, overpriced, bad teeth (stereotype, but seriously true), annoying voices, awKWARD! OK, there's museums and good beer which are cool, but pretty much every big city (even small ones) has such, or at least the latter. Anyhow, I'm not so hip to London and I really wish people would figure it out. I know there's more...I also think Hue (is that how you spell it?) grant is super annoying.

I find George Bush super annoying so I guess that cancels Hugh's perceived annoyingness out...

Never been to Paris, been past it several times whilst heading for the vineyards but never really felt like visiting the place, full of American tourists (with great teeth ;))

I have to say (and call me strange if you like) I love visiting places like this on a regular basis. Living like a tourist in your own home makes life all the more interesting in my opinion.

I have only lived here 2.5 years though, so I understand the novelty may not have worn off yet!

I used to work in Knightsbridge and walk home to Fulham, a walk which took me past Harvey Nicks, Horrids, Brompton Oratory, The V & A, The Natural History Museum and lots of lovely South Kensington streets. Whenever I felt low I'd remind myself that people come from the world over to see this stuff that I take for granted.
