So yesterday Big Tone announced he was going…
But we already knew that…
And it’s not like he’s going immediately…
So he still isn’t going just yet…
Which we also already knew…
(What did he announce, again?!)

Anyway… he is going… at some point.

So do you all think he did a good job?
What do you think about the state of the country and living in the UK in relation to ten years ago to when he came to power?
What you do you think about the decisions that he made… in particular Iraq?
Do you think he was a strong enough leader on an international stage?
Do you think he’ll be remembered fondly?

As they say in GSCE English Lit exams… Discuss.

I've always liked Blair, yes he was responsible (with Campbell) for turning the Labour Party into a media machine but I think this was inevitable in today's always-on media hungry society, infact it was very smart. I think overall he was very good for the UK, he was a strong character who was respected internationally - he made a huge difference in some of the most problematic parts of the world and stuck with it, just look at NI now, very difficult and unpopular choices were made to get to where it is now.

As for the state of the UK I think Labour could have done better, I don't hold Blair responsible for the problems in the NHS and the education system, the money was put in and the policies were on the right lines, the improvements just didn't get through the layers of bureaucracy. This is where I see the problems being in the UK, if private sector companies were run like these public services they'd be out of business - there's a lot to be gained from private business partnerships in these services, something Blair also was in favour of.

Iraq - we should probably never have got involved with this, it's easy to say now and it's very easy for all of the "Bliar Out" crowd to criticise based on the current situation. I really do believe that Blair went into Iraq with good intentions.

All in all I think he was a good prime minister and will be looked at in years to come as someone who changed the UK for the good. The anti this anti that protestors will be targeting the next person who has to make difficult decisions next and they'll leave Blair alone.
