The 2012 logo

Following on from my latest blog entry I thought I'd open up the discussion about the 2012 logo to the Floor.

Rather than use the original logo I've knocked up my own version using Microsoft Paint - it took 4 minutes and cost less than £400,000 to produce (although only just)


So, what do you lot think of the logo? (the official one, not mine)

I think it's an embarrassment.

Seb Coe reckons it's "of the time" and reflects the style of the country. What does he know about style? This is a man who wore lycra out of choice for about 20 years of his life... and now whenever I see him he's either in a Harris Tweed jacket (not unlike one of my old English teachers) or in a black polar neck (what is he, the milk tray man?)... anyway off the point a bit there...

I don't think that it reflects very well on London at all or the country as a whole... I think it really hurts our credibility on the international stage.

Alleged Logo is a heap of mince, never seen so much trash. Should have got schools to design the logo and then donate the money to the winning school

I like the idea of letting a school design it and giving the cash back, a much better use of that amount of money.

It's a really boring logo. And apparently it changes colour every few seconds which could give you an amazing head ache! Couldn't they use some famous landmark?

So, it seems that 100% of the people on this thread (all 4 of us) don't like the logo - confirms what I thought.

I hate the logo too.

When i first saw it on the news with all the flashing colours it started to give me a headache.

Then again i don't like the idea of London having the olympics at all.

I don't like Seb Coe he just annoys me :laugh:
Used to see him alot as his parents live on the same street as my mum.

Also i think my 3 year old daughter could of drawn a better logo :laugh:
