concorde for London 2012 Olympic Games

some 12 british members of parliament want concord back by 2009 (40th anniversary of the first flight) or at least 2012 London Olympics.

They really enjoyed flying on them (presumably courtesy of taxpayers) and they think it's a nice mascot plane still worth to be shown around.

Would purely sentimental values justify flying a plane which is dangerous?

I always thought that the concorde was majestic and although it may not be safe to fly it would be nice to get a fly-by on the opening of the olympics.

Concorde was never unsafe - the crash in Paris was due to the debris on the runway and human errors.

The Save Concorde Group is still campaigning to get a Concorde flying for the London 2012 Olympics. BA says no, but there is no technical reason why the planes can't fly again. See the Times for more information:
