Ideas for 18th bday

I'm taking my cousin and brother (along with a couple of 'older' folk! 40+!!) out in london for the evening for there 18th bdays (both will be 18 already!) and am after some recomendations of good places to go, we are doing something else during the day so its purely for a decent evening.

Few bits of info to help your recomendations:
- Place must let in 18yo's
- Most of london would be ok, however the closer to charing cross the better!
- Ideally it would be neither a bar nor a club, it would be somewhere in between!

The best ive come up with so far is Zoo Bar in leicester square and Walkabout (sharftsbury ave or temple), however not 100% sure if walkabout will suit the older members of the party!

Take a look at all the pubs and bars around Charing Cross in All In London's Bar and Club Guide.

Leicester square is just a 2 minute walk from Charing Cross and there are some great bars in the area: Bars near Leicester Square

A couple of stand out examples which are a bit different might be Waxy O'Connors and the Cheers Bar.

If you're not keen on clubs or bars then maybe take a look at Bowling... always a good laugh in a group :)

How about South London Pacific in Kennington (not too far from Charing X on the Northern line). It's bar, but not a pub-style bar, and is tiki-themed, it's really nice, plus never too full of touristy types as it's slightly off the beaten path:
